The Bronx is the northernmost of the 5 boroughs of New York City. Bordered by the Harlem and East Rivers, it’s considered the only borough that is predominantly on the US mainland. The area contains the poorest congressional district in the USA and was known throughout the 20th century for its poverty and crime. However, it has since emerged as one of the most ethnically diverse and culturally rich boroughs in New York City.

Between 2010 and 2021, the Venezuelan population in the United States increased 169%, from 240,000 to 640,000, becoming the fastest growing Latino group, followed by Guatemalans, Dominicans and Hondurans.

Currently, Dominicans represent the largest Hispanic group in this county, which already amounts to almost 500 thousand people, which is equivalent to approximately one third of the total population of The Bronx.

It's predominantly known for being the birthplace of rap and hip-hop music and as the home of the famous professional baseball team, the New York Yankees.
The Bronx offers a lively mix of cultural richness that represents its history as a destination for immigrants to the United States. The borough is home to a number of colleges and universities, most notably Fordham University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and several large medical centers and hospitals.
The Bronx has an underlying but vibrant culinary and bar scene. Arthur Avenue, with its authentic trattorias, is considered the more authentic version of Manhattan's "Little Italy". You can also find a range of local breweries in the Bronx, which seems to be carrying the weight of the city’s long beer-brewing history. A must-visit is the Bronx Brewery, which offers live music and hip-hop-inspired beer.

Despite the somewhat less-than-perfect reputation the Bronx has had in the past, the borough is largely safe to visit and explore. It’s easily reachable from other areas of the city on the subway, particularly from Manhattan. The Bronx is over 42 square miles in size, so be sure to check the subway map carefully to know exactly where you want to go.

According to the corollaries, we can classify the Bronx as regional because we know that it is a neighborhood that is located within New York, so if we make the comparison we can say that in the city of New York it is a place where there are buildings, everything is modern and is more touristy, on the other hand we have the Bronx which is a place where it is the opposite since in this place there is a lot of poverty and insecurity, they are two very different places but they are in the same place due to their culture and your way of living.

Acculturation in the Bronx, New York, is a complex and dynamic phenomenon that unfolds in the context of one of the most diverse and densely populated urban areas in the United States. Since its founding, the Bronx has been a melting pot of cultures, attracting immigrants from all over the world in search of economic and social opportunities. This rich history of immigration has given rise to a vibrant and multifaceted community, where people of different ethnic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds coexist and mix.
Immigration plays a critical role in shaping acculturation in the Bronx. Over the years, diverse ethnic groups, including Italians, Irish, Jews, African Americans, Latinos, Asians, and many others, have established communities in the Bronx, each bringing with them their own traditions, customs, and cultural practices.
