“I know I’m mad, I’ve always been mad.”
-- Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon.
We’ve been doing a lot of planning for filming in 2024, and we’ve not even finished filming for 2023 yet. We’re planning possibly the biggest adventure we’re likely to do – until the next one at least. We’re going on a bike ride, with our tents and filming equipment.
We’ll be starting in Newcastle and cycling to all forty-two Church of England cathedrals in England (this is actually a thing, more details here), stopping off to visit breweries and bars along the way to truly get a sense of the local beer scene throughout the country.
We’re planning to do this all in one go over the course of forty-two days, including some rest days where we’re hoping to schedule in some brewing along the way.
This is an epic undertaking; we’ve never done anything like this before, so expect daily updates as we go, and much longer episodes afterwards.
We’re still working on the route. It takes time to plan around 2,000 miles of cycling, including campsites, so if you run a brewery or pub that might be on our route and has space in a beer garden where we can pitch our tents, or have suggestions of where might be friendly to a couple of blokes on bikes, then please get in touch, and if you fancy joining us for a leg or two, or just a few drinks in the evenings – it’s the more the merrier!
As each leg gets (mostly) confirmed, we'll list it below.
