A Look back on 2024

Building connections
Throughout the year, Deepti Designs was able to complete over 50+ events outside of the studio, many of which featured a series of collaborations with prestigious organizations like Seattle University, Washington State University, eBay, Google, Microsoft, and the Gates Foundation to name a few. Events through the City of Bothell, Redmond, Bellevue, and Kirkland brought our work closer to the community, while our growing partnerships with KCLS libraries allowed us to host engaging workshops for diverse audiences.

Kathith Growth
Deepti Designs continued to expand its offerings with Kathith, introducing new workshops while also offering new batches of previous sessions. Our Shilpa Shastra curriculum also saw tremendous growth, providing participants with structured, enriching learning experiences that deepen their knowledge of various ancient Indian art styles outside of Madhubani.
Honors and achievements
Ms. Deepti Agrawal had her own share of honors this year - celebrating a visit to Washington DC as a humanities delegate, an impactful TEDx talk, and many more. Our students shone in the Congressional Art Competition, and our Gandhi painting earned recognition from the Indian Consulate and Seattle’s mayor. Contributions to the Sound Transit Redmond Technology Station highlighted our impact on public spaces.

New Beginnings
June marked a significant milestone with the opening of our new studio location in Redmond. Additionally, we revamped our newsletter into a dynamic new format and welcomed fresh talent to our team, setting the stage for even greater accomplishments. The Vyakhya blog also launched around this time, representing just one of the many student-led initiatives done through the studio.
Cultural Milestones
Deepti Designs proudly participated in events like the India Day Parade and Independence Day Parade, furthering our mission to celebrate and preserve Indian heritage. These events allowed us to connect with communities locally and globally, fostering a deeper appreciation for our shared cultural legacy. The Independence Day Parade was a particularly high honor - with guest speakers like the Indian Consulate and Bill Gates.

Showcasing Talent
Deepti Designs was honored to present at prominent galleries, including the A/NT Gallery, Seattle Center, and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. Our artists also showcased their work at the International Children’s Friendship Festival and the Redmond Children’s Business Fair. These platforms not only celebrated Madhubani tradition, but also gave our students opportunities to build confidence, hone presentation skills, and develop leadership qualities. The annual show at Seattle was the perfect way to wrap up the last few months of the year, where we recognized our artists' talents and accomplishments in volunteer work, leadership, and creativity with awards.
Here’s to continuing this momentum in 2025, as we strive to inspire, create, and make a lasting impact through Indian traditional art.
Thank you for being an integral part of Deepti Designs’ story. Together, we look forward to another year of artistic excellence and meaningful connections!
