Phillip Ray, also known as Coach P.Ray. I am originally from a small town in New Mexico, where I was part of a team that won the state football championship in 2005. Since 2017, I’ve divided my time between New Mexico and the Valley, and in March of last year, my family and I moved back to the Valley—hopefully for good this time.
I am currently a Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service, a role that presents both physical and mental challenges. This career has taught me valuable lessons about resilience, perseverance, and the strength of the human spirit—principles I apply when coaching.
As a coach, I am passionate about mentoring youth and helping them grow, both as athletes and as individuals. I take great pride in coaching my three boys, who are active participants in sports and play on our AZ Vikings teams. I firmly believe in the power of sports to instill life skills, and I am dedicated to giving back to the community by supporting the next generation of athletes.
In addition to my coaching role, I am a proud father of four boys and a devoted fiancé.
