Getting a USB Measurement Mic is a rewarding investment. Measurements with other Microphones require an amplifier with phantom source and SPL Calibration. This introduces extra complexity that can be frustating to a beginner.
I do multiple Measurements with different microphone positions to create an average.
There is a moving mic method https://www.ohl.to/audio/downloads/MMM-moving-mic-measurement.pdf, yet i do my measurement with a tripod and position the mic roughly in a square around the listening position.
I do2-3 measurement in the listening position to put more weight on this position.
Doing the measurements with the sequential channel option make this more convenient.
In the 'All SPL' tab
