To help our members with food allergies most fully participate in co-op activities, we have implemented the following policies:
No food and no drinks besides water will be consumed during co-op (9:30-11:30am). See nursery exception below. Coffee is ok, but must not have dairy or nut milk (oatmilk, soymilk, or coconut milk are safe alternatives).
Only foods on the "Safe List" will be allowed before lunch begins at noon. It is our experience that some children really need to eat by 11:30, so you are welcome to pack safe foods for the children to eat during free play time.
Each family should do their best to have their own picnic blanket, and family members will eat lunch together. No food will be taken out of the picnic area.
No food on the playground!
Nursery -- We are working out the details for this policy, but nursery children may be allowed to bring foods on the "Safe Foods" list for an optional snack time around 10:30.
NO PEANUTS or other tree nuts, please.
Allergy policies for field trips, park play dates, and family gatherings will be addressed and communicated on a case by case basis.
