WHO AM I AS A DESIGNER
WHO AM I AS A DESIGNER
The aesthetics of my garments will be creative and modern, some appearing with complex structures and others being playful with additional pieces for the garments.
Inspired by Alexander McQueen, Iris Van Herpen, and Karl Lagerfeld, I would like my collection to be in couture and high fashion, projecting different shapes, materials, colour creativity, and bold statements, so couture can be seen in a different perspective.
Through my project, I would like to showcase my Spanish culture, family heritage, and experiences, which have inspired me over the years of my life. I would like to use traditional Spanish cultural techniques, researching Spanish traditional clothing and how the culture and social events influenced their techniques of making clothing. The patterns and the techniques I have selected will be personalised to my style, adding illustrations onto fabrics and photographs to show the story and journey of my life on complex conceptual couture garments. I will also create conceptual couture Fashion, using 3D design structures and contemporary techniques, such as laser cutting, 3D printing and futuristic prints which l will need to learn and incorporate into my designs.
My conclusion as a designer and the main focus of my collection will be enhancing traditional wear in contrast to using conceptual complex designs for couture catwalks, and to make people be more creative with their wear. It will Be Men and Women's wear. I will explore cultural Spanish traditional techniques and materials for my designs. I will show the importance of the culture, highlight social current problems around the world, and learn about the culture and what style and position as a designer I am in. I will show the importance of problems and culture through fashion couture. For this proposal, I will also look at Subculture, market levels, competitors, materials, brands and fashion styles.
