During the Fall of 2021, a young freshman, Nathan Shumway, came up with a small silly idea: to create a documentary about his daily life at school. With that, the IRL Docuseries was created with its first episode (The Michael Saga). As the years went on, the Docuseries expanded. Going into his Junior year, Nathan created the IRL Docuseries: Upperclassmen and Shorts, with a massive step up in quality. As 2025 rolled around, with graduation around the corner, Nathan and Timothy Merrill created a plan for "The Adventures of Life as We Know It."

After graduation, Nathan and Teej started brainstorming their idea for the next big thing: "The Adventures of Life as we Know It." Based on idea of the original series, The Adventures of Life will follow the daily lives of its editor, but with a twist. Teej and Nathan planned to expand the series to multiple editors, each one making their own series from their own unique perspective.
