The Actors PA ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Darling Tech Ltd. This policy explains what data we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, and the third-party services that receive parts of that data so the app's features can work.
We collect only the data needed to make the app's features work for you.
Account details (name, email, optional phone number) — entered during signup. Used to create your account and sign you in.
Profile information (agency, agent name/email/phone, location, headshot) — entered or uploaded from the profile screen. Used to pre-fill booking forms and personalise the app.
Scripts (PDF or text files) — uploaded by you from "My Scripts & Characters". Used so the app can detect characters, scenes, and lines for practice.
Practice audio recordings — recorded by the app with your microphone permission while you use Recite. Used so you can review your takes and (optionally) receive transcription/feedback.
Self-tape video recordings — recorded by the app with your camera + microphone permission while you use Self-Tape Studio. Used so you can review and share your self-tapes.
Booking entries and screenshots — entered manually or attached by you. Used to organise your bookings and (when you attach a screenshot) auto-extract dates and locations.
AI Features consent timestamp — recorded when you tap "Continue" on the AI Features disclosure screen. Used to confirm you have consented to data being sent to AI providers.
Subscription state — set when you subscribe via Apple in-app purchase. Used to unlock paid features.
Diagnostic logs — generated by the app. Used to diagnose crashes and bugs.
We do NOT collect your precise location, contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or any data for advertising or tracking purposes.
To provide and personalise the app's features.
To save and sync your work across your devices.
To generate AI-assisted features such as script parsing, the AI Practice Partner, the AI Self-Tape Coach, Movie Maker storyboard imagery, and booking screenshot extraction (see Section 4).
To process subscriptions via Apple's in-app purchase system.
To respond to support requests.
To meet legal obligations.
We do NOT sell your personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it for targeted advertising.
Your account data, scripts, recordings, and bookings are stored securely on our servers. Files (recordings, scripts, screenshots) are placed in private storage accessible only to your account.
To power the app's AI features, certain pieces of content you create are sent to the following third-party AI providers. The app never embeds third-party API credentials directly.
Anthropic, PBC ("Claude") — receives booking screenshots you attach, plus script text snippets and short transcripts of your practice take when you use the AI coach. Used to extract booking dates/locations and generate practice feedback.
Google LLC (Gemini, Cloud Text-to-Speech) — receives scripts you upload and individual script lines. Used to parse scripts into characters/scenes and synthesise voices for the AI Practice Partner and Movie Maker narration.
Groq, Inc. (Whisper) — receives audio of your practice take. Used to transcribe what you said so feedback can be generated.
fal.ai, Inc. (Flux Schnell, Wan 2.2, Kling) — receives short text prompts derived from your script. Used to generate storyboard images and short video clips in Movie Maker.
We do NOT send any of the following to any third-party AI provider:
Your name, email, phone number, or any other identity field.
Your payment information.
Location data, IP address, or device identifiers.
Your profile, account, or contact metadata.
Self-tape video recordings — these are stored only in your private storage and are never processed by an external AI.
Equivalence of protection. Each provider above operates under their own published privacy policy and, by default, does not retain or use customer API content to train their public models. We have reviewed each provider's terms and confirmed they offer protections equivalent to those described in this policy for the data we share with them.
Your consent. Before any data is sent to these providers, the app shows an in-app AI Features disclosure screen describing exactly what is sent and to whom. You must tap "Continue" on that screen for the AI features to be enabled.
Account data, scripts, recordings, bookings: kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of you deleting your account.
Diagnostic logs: retained for up to 90 days.
Data sent to third-party AI providers: retained by those providers according to their own published policies (typically not retained beyond processing).
The Actors PA is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact darlingtechltd@gmail.com and we will delete it.
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: HTTPS/TLS for all network requests, encryption at rest, and scoped access controls that ensure only you can read your own data. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data we will notify you within the timeframes required by applicable law.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app and via the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
When you subscribe to The Actors PA Pro through the Apple App Store or Google Play, we store your subscription plan, status, and renewal/expiry dates to unlock paid features. We do not collect or store your payment card details — all payments are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms.
