Therapies Using Micro & Nanofibers: Local delivery is a useful strategy for enhancing the therapeutic properties of a drug. This controls drug distribution enables therapeutic drug concentration to be achieved at the target site and reduces the systemic levels and related side effects. Our lab focused on the development of micro/nanofibers from biocompatible and biodegradable polymers loaded with therapeutic drugs for infection ablation and tissue regeneration. The rate of degradation of the fibers can be manipulated, hence the delivery rate of the drug.

We are especially interested in applying these tools to address challenging cancers, including bone and head & neck cancer.
