After intense bargaining over the summer of 2024, our negotiating team is proud to share that members have overwhelmingly ratified a new collective bargaining agreement with the University of Hartford, in effect through June 30, 2027. The contract delivers meaningful gains for our members, including steady increases to per-credit, hourly, and stipend rates over each term of the agreement, new course-cancellation compensation, clearer appointment structures, and expanded access to professional development funding. It also strengthens job security through a new seniority pool, improved reappointment protections, and earlier notice of course assignments.Â
As the largest group of instructional employees at the University, part-time faculty teach a significant share of the courses that help students thrive, and this agreement recognizes the professionalism, stability, and respect our members deserve. With stronger compensation, clearer pathways for continued employment, and guaranteed access to campus resources, this contract affirms the essential role part-timers play in the academic community.
