I got my PhD in Limnology (Freshwater ecology) from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
I taught Ecology and Environmental Science at Moravian Academy Upper School, in Bethlehem, PA for 14 years.
I now live just outside of Kingston, Ontario, and completed a Master's of Environmental Studies at Queen's University, specializing in waste management.
One of the topics of my thesis was waste reduction and diversion at a local festival. Since then I have volunteered at 5 local festivals and helped organizers to divert waste away from landfill - mostly by encouraging food vendors to exchange plastic packaging for compostables and then ensuring that all organic material was diverted to the local composting facility. See the Waste Diversion at Events page for the how-to guide and tips that work.
