The Zhu Lab

We are working on the following research topics:

New chemical/physical properties including quantum effects of materials and their biomedical applications

Biosensors, electrochemical sensors, luminescent/optical sensors, and gas sensors

Time-resolved luminescence measurement for highly sensitive biosensing/imaging

Wireless-based sensors, sensor networks and sensing data analytics for healthcare

Integrated sensory systems for point-of-care diagnosis or in-field analytical testing

Electro-optical systems using advanced photonics and electronics for highly sensitive and accurate sensing/imaging

Development, evaluation, and application of sensors in healthcare, environmental water/air monitoring, food safety, agriculture, etc.

Lab Openings:

Our research has been focusing on sensors and sensing instrumentation covering advanced materials, analytical methods, analytical chemistry, immunology, data analytics, device development, and sensing applications in healthcare and environmental monitoring, etc.

For the openings for graduate students, we expect the candidates can meet the following criteria:

- Holding or expected to obtain a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or other related discipline.

- An undergraduate GPA > 3.3.

- Good communication and writing skills.

- Research Assistant scholarship will be provided for the selected candidates.
