Angela is a multi-skilled community artist and social inclusion practitioner with over 20 years experience of working in social care. Previously a live-in carer and a senior support worker of both adults and children with SEND, Angela went on to train as an OT.  

Since completing her studies, she contributed her expertise to The Healthy Living Club (where she coordinated a dementia-centred peer-support group weekly for over 4 years), and to award winning Joy of Sound (JOS). At JOS, Angela trained as a combined arts practictioner, and now is their Lead Facilitator.  

Angela also lived with, advocated for, and provided care to a parent with dementia until 'end of life'

Julia holds a Diploma in Integrative Sandplay Studies and a Certificate in Working Creatively with Trauma & Expressive Arts Therapy. 

She worked 1:1 as a Sandplay Therapist working with people with dementia, and you can read a powerful account of her experience here.

 Julia also worked as a child bereavement counsellor at CARIS Islington for six years, and has been volunteering as a reminiscence co-facilitator and befriender for Link Age Southwark since 2008. More recently, she joined JOS as a combined arts workshop co-facilitator. 

Currently learning Makaton and training in Family Constellations, Julia looks forward to incorporating these into her work..




Simona Florio

Person-Centred Counsellor &

Creative Workshops Facilitator

Previously a Playworker,  Simona is a Qualified  Counsellor and an experienced Therapeutic Play Practitioner who uses her skills to stimulate conversations, and promote playfulness in care homes.  

She also has over 15 years experience of delivering Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), as well as Arts and Crafts workshops for people with dementia, children, young people with SEND, and intergenerational groups. When working for the Alzheimer's Society, she set up and managed their Lambeth Healthy Ageing Cafè. 

However, she is best known for setting up The Healthy Living Club (HLC), a small dementia charity that became a model of coproduction and dementia peer-support under her direction. 

In 2012, Simona was runnner-up as Best Activity Coordinator of the Year at the National Dementia Care Awards.
