Here Goes Nothing!

Never in a millions years did I think that I, me, Jamie, would start a blog! Who on earth would care what I have to say? I don't know how to write! And what would I write about? When I was younger, I had journals.. and man did I love to write in them! But that was 25-30 years ago! 

But here goes nothing...!

To introduce myself: Hi! I'm Jamie: a 37 mom of a silly and super sweet boy and wife to a hard working blue-collar man! We live in a city in Ohio with a not so great reputation, but I grew up here and I love it to death! I work in the medical field and spend my free time dreaming of vacationing to all my favorite spots and exploring new ones that I've only ever read about. My husband shares my wanderlust so we are constantly thinking of and researching new places to discover. Our son is our world and I love watching him growing and seeing things through his eyes. He is the most loving child and makes me laugh everyday.

My husband and I met in Raleigh, NC where we both lived for over 10 years and had our son. A job is what brought him there but not me. I wanted out of Ohio. A new start. A new city. Where I grew up, everyone knew everyone and everywhere you went you saw the same people- and I hate it. My sister had moved there a few years before and I took the opportunity to use her help and relocate when I graduated college. I loved it at first, but the distance from loved ones grew harder and harder- especially when my sister relocated to Charlotte and we had our son. It was the same reason I left that brought me back. Now I WANTED to see the same people. The familiarity. The comfort. And I wanted our son to feel it to. So almost two years ago we took the leap and moved back- and here we are! Living our simple Midwest life and LOVING it!

So that's what I plan on writing about- for now. The things I love and the things I know: travel, mama-hood, raising a boy, living in the Midwest, 

and maybe throw in some medical field stories once in a while! As I go along, I'm sure I'll come across some advice or story that I think is worth sharing and make sure to spill it for you too!

I hope you find what I have to say interesting and worth reading and follow along with me as I go. I'm open to suggestions and criticisms as well so feel free to drop those to me anytime!
