Like in the year 2020, there is probably more than one reason for the political disturbances and the protest in the year 1968. It is the story of a total of eight protestors and not seven and organizers charged for inciting a riot.

The real story which has been covered begins with an anti-Vietnam War exhibition outside of the 1968 Democratic Convention. The President carried out the assassination of both Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. in the year 1968. It sparked nationwide protests at that time, which eventually turned into riots.

As we read about the defendants and the way the court was treating them during the trial in the year 1986, it becomes clear to us that a widespread scorn for hippies. The counter culture played a vital role in increasing the trial and turning it into an event.
