Mostly A's – Thou art well-suited for the Order. Prepare thy soul and sharpen thy blade.
Mostly B's – Thy spirit is willing, but thou hast need of further reflection and prayer.
Mostly C's – The path of the knight may not be thine to walk.
Learn the Ways of the Order
Learn more about the Knights Templar, also known as the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ, and the Temple of Solomon. Recognize their grave responsibility to serve with dignity, obedience, and humility, to safeguard pilgrims, and to defend Christianity.
Pledge Thy Life to God and the Temple
You must have a strong moral code, be a devoted Christian, and be blameless. Before sacrificing your life for the cause, seek guidance from a senior knight or clergyman. Recognize that comfort, family, and money must be sacrificed.
Seek Entry Into the Order
Visit a commandery or preceptory where Templars are based. Use the Order to commit to serve Christ. The Master may accept you as a novice under strict supervision and punishment if you are judged deserving.
Prove Thy Worth
Receive instruction in service, weaponry, and the Bible. Live humbly and obey the Rule of the Temple. Keep your word, stay loyal to your buddies, and stay away from luxury. Before you are deemed ready, it could take months or even years.
Undergo the Ceremony of Initiation
You must kneel in front of the altar with your sword and mantle in front of you if the chapter has given its approval. Make resolute promises to be chaste, poverty, and obedient. Over your shoulders, a white mantle bearing the crimson cross shall be hung.
Live as a Knight of Christ
You must now defend the Holy Land, serve as a Templar fearlessly, and guard pilgrims. Always be willing to give up something for what you believe in. Respect the law, stand up for the weak, and bear your cross with dignity and humility.
So shalt thou walk the narrow path of the warrior monk, in service to God and the Temple.
