Your Canvas syllabus page can be made to look really nice by simply adding a few good graphics and maybe some horizontal bars. The syllabus below is more or less as it appeared to students in Canvas in 2018. An interesting class title helps too :)
You should also have a version saved as an accessible Word document or pdf that is available to students who may want to print it. Tools like Canva or Adobe Express allow you to embed entire pages that may be your syllabus.

We will be using Canvas for all course materials and assignment and for all communication including announcements and updates, so be sure that you have set up Canvas that you will receive these messages quickly. You will also be expected to use your UW e-mail account regularly, so that we can communicate with each of you electronically between classes. If you wish to use another email address as your primary account, set up your UW account to forward to your other address. You can email us through Canvas.
We will typically respond within 12 hours, though it may take longer during weekends and holidays. Office hours are 1 PM to 2 PM Mondays or by appointment. We’re happy to meet you via Skype or Zoom.

Because half of this course is online, this course requires:
Reliable fast-speed Internet connection. The Open Learning Lab in UW2-140 and the library can provide access on-campus if you need it.
