It was evening when they arrived at the city because the merchant was afraid he didn’t invite Tembe to his home. Walking in the street having only the garment with him he was amazed by the culture he taught was lost and destroyed after walking and looking around he came across an Inn, but he didn’t have any coin to purchase something to feed himself or to pay rent. So… he looked for a corner on the street to find some rest because he was very confused about the things that happened in the last 48 hours.
In the corner where he laid to rest he saw some patterns sparkling they had a head and a tail but nobody, these were the Tembe of Ndjuka that he saw sparkled in the corner. He then when closer to look a the symbols but they disappeared. He sat down in the corner and used the garment to cover himself when he check the garment he saw all the patterns that he saw on the garment all confused he then gaze at the stars as he fell asleep he start getting flashbacks of the struggle and suffering he used to face when he was growing up in the Kingdom of Filicia. In the Flashback, he was being chased by the guards that were sent by the king to capture him and his friends, before they could reach the temple three of his friends were killed by the guards one was killed by an arrow, the others by the sword. One was Tembe's best friend but he was injured so he sacrifices himself that Tembe could have a head start on the guards. The objects are the Tembe’s of Dead.
Friend: Run Tembe, at least one of us will be Free!
Tembe burst into tears and left his best friend behind in the flashback he was almost caught by one of the guards but before he was caught by one of the guards he woke up from the dream and suddenly the spirit of virtue appeared in front of him.
Spirit: Why are you lying in the street Tembe?
Tembe: I’m very hungry and don’t have coins for rent or food
Spirit: Check your pocket. He told Tembe.
When Tembe checked his pocket he found enough coins to pay rent for a whole year at the inn. He was very happy, some men were passing by and saw Tembe talking but they couldn’t see the spirit that was with him. so they start laughing and calling him mad because he also didn’t have the best of clothes on.
Spirit: Go into the Inn and take a bath, buy some new clothes you won’t be seeing me for a while but don’t be afraid Tembe I’ll be with you in spirit always. Now go a rest young one.
Before Tembe could say a word the spirit vanished. So he went into the Inn but the Innkeeper judged him by his looks and told him to go outside that the inn is not a place for hoboes.
Tembe: I’m just a weary traveler who seeks roof, clothes, and food sir.
Tembe went into his pocket and pulled out a gold coin that was worth three months of rent. The Innkeeper was very pleased because of the gold coin and gave him one of the best rooms and services of the Inn.
Inn Keeper: Welkom young Lord. Welkom!
He brought him to the room gave him clean clothes, wine, and bread. Tembe went and took a bath came out of the bathroom he saw patterns on his bed, a white sheet with patterns all over just like those on the garment but these symbols look like mermaids. There were many colored patterns that look like mermaids but only five were truly mermaids, those are the Five Mermaid Tembe’s. When laid to rest he started murmuring in the language of the ancient and fell asleep.
