Our Story
The Spotsylvanians Community Chorus was founded in December 2002 and performed their debut concert at Courtland High School in June 2003. Led by founder and artistic director, Bob Estes, The Spotsylvanians sang choral standards in the first part of the program and continued with crowd-pleasing Disney songs after the intermission.
For more than 20 years, The Spotsylvanians have shared their joy and love for music with the people of Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County, and beyond.
Today, the Spotsylvanians continue to build upon the foundation first laid in 2002 by engaging in dynamic rehearsals in a safe, multigenerational, and diverse environment to spread joy and create a feeling of welcome and belonging in our community.
The Spotlighters
The Spotlighters is a small auditioned subset of the chorus. They perform where it would not be feasible for our larger group to perform. When requested to perform at organized events, The Spotlighters require a moderate stipend to help defray expenses

The Spotsylvanians, Inc.®
Our legal governing entity, authorized to conduct official business as a non-profit charitable organization, is The Spotsylvanians, Inc. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation in partnership with Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation, and parent organization to The Spotsylvanians. We also cooperate with school based musical support programs by involving students from within our local school system.
This activity is partially supported by funding from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
