Solarpunk started as an aesthetic that has evolved into a philosophy and a call to action. It's a concept that asks the question, "What if We Got it Right?" and encourages us not only to reject dystopia, but also to exercise our radical social imagination to envision (and actively build) a better tomorrow by taking action today.
The Solarpunk Society is a social group/club that gives folks a central community to connect with and engage in various solarpunk projects and events to actively build towards a more just, equitable, and sustainable world.
We host and amplify social activities to explore solarpunk ideas, strengthen our communities, and envision a brighter future. While also seeking regenerative joy! Some members elect to take on and lead projects. Or to work with the group for support and peer consulting.

Currently, we are based in Thurston County and Olympia, WA, USA. Or more specifically, Turtle Island (North America)'s > Pacific Northwest (PNW) Cascadia Bioregion > of the Lower Salish Sea region.
However, reach out to us if you want to connect or have us amplify your Solarpunk group in your area!

We share social hangout opportunities within the group so members can find body-doubles as study-buddies at local libraries, invite others on a sun stroll/sit in a park, or open invites to local solarpunk films, etc. The best places to connect for these are the Signal Group Chat, or the Community Calendar.
Within the group, teams of individuals will self-organize to lead various projects that help communities. These range from drafting sustainability plans, outlining free curriculum, to leading workshops, and more.
Occasionally we host events of our own (often in partnership with an established organization) to bring joy and learning to those interested. Historically that's included film screenings, sustainability/climate themed board game nights, to guest lectures.
Below on the left-hand side are Solarpunk Society and Evergreen-specific low-key hangouts. On the lower right-hand side is the broader environmental community events calendar for Thurston County and the surrounding South Sound Area.
