This project has been abandoned!
I've put a lot of work and effort into this project and you can show your appreciation by donating an amount that you feel is appropriate.
For donations, I accept gift vouchers from 3DJake. Buy one and send it to me on Discord (please don't take the "I Love You" voucher - this might raise suspicion... unless you really mean it, of course ;o)).
The assembly shown in this document, although fairly old (April 2021) , is still accurate as for the mechanical portion. Where it's a bit outdated is for the electronics part. Keep in mind that this manual mainly focuses on the SKR E3-DIP V1.1 controller board, which still is a valid option if you happen to have one of these, but it doesn't show you some of the latest controller boards, housings and options available nowadays.
That's where the "Work in Progress" page and other parts of this website chime in, especially the "How to..." and "Configure..." sections.
"Work in Progress" is my kind of blog, where I list all the changes and improvements I've made as time passed by. Some of them got outdated by other improvements but that's life! The page is written bottom up, means, the latest changes/improvements are at the top. The further you scroll down, the older the information gets. If you start reading at the bottom, you'll get a pretty nice impression on how and (most importantly) why things came to be.
The "How to..." section mainly focuses on new controller boards and variants, such as the DDE option. So, if you're going to use a controller board other than the E3-DIP, go there, pick the board you intend to use and see what the particular page has to say about it. All the components needed to build a SMuFF are the same throughout all controller boards, as shown in this block diagram.
In the "Configure..." section you'll find answers on how to set up the firmware for the different printer environments (Duet / Marlin / Klipper...) and other stuff like the SFB or a slicer setup.
In a nutshell: This Assembly Manual is a valuable resource to get you started on this project but the main up-to-date information is contained on this website. All you have to do is to read it.
On a side note: You probably ignored the "you can donate..." section at the start of this page, so don't be annoyed if I ignore any "why don't you update the manual..." requests.
