For me, it took: Seasons and City Living, to finally enjoy playing the sims 4, I've now since added mods to add more ''realistic'' flare to my game (including CC) I have other packs as well, but I never considered buying anymore for the last 4-5 years.

There are four levels of DLC available for The Sims 4: expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits. We'll go into detail about what each type offers further down the page, but for now, here are the raw costs in all their horrifying glory:

Game packs are DLC that are generally lighter in new features than expansion packs, but they're still a little more substantial than stuff packs. Currently there are 12 game packs available, each featuring a range of stuff for your Sims to do, from visiting vacation destinations to solving a mystery about your local neighbourhood.

Stuff packs are the smallest full DLC packs for The Sims 4. Generally you'll only get new objects and clothing options in each one, but there are exceptions that include a new career, new skills, and more. Since there are a whopping 18 stuff packs, it can be confusing which ones are worth investing in.

Since there are so many stuff packs available, it can be hard to work out which ones are the best buys. I personally prefer a little extra gameplay along with my new CAS and Build Mode items, so my top picks are Tiny Living Stuff (which adds micro-home building challenges), Paranormal Stuff (which adds the Paranormal Investigator career), the real-world brand tie-in Moschino Stuff (which adds the Fashion Photographer freelance career), and Nifty Knitting Stuff (which adds knitting as a major new skill with unique craftable items).

Beyond those four, which stuff packs you prefer will probably come down to your personal aesthetic and which areas of Build Mode you're eager to expand. A word of caution if you're thinking of buying My First Pet Stuff, though: you also need to have the Cats & Dogs expansion installed in order to use all its features. This is currently the only DLC for The Sims 4 for which there's a prerequisite beyond owning the base game, and it's something to bear in mind.

After taking a long break, I've decided to try The Sims 3 again and was wondering if there are any expansion packs that should be avoided for the sake of performance. This time, I'm trying to limit myself to expansions I find essential and no stuff packs to make the game a little smoother (last time I played with nearly all of them.) The only ones I really need for my play style is university life, seasons, and generations, but would also like late night and/or ambitions. I have a decent enough computer, but it's the Sims 3 we're talking about, so...

I downloaded the sims 3 64-bit version for my macbook yesterday and i already had Seasons so i installed that one as well. I got university life today as a gift from a friend and i redeemed the code online. Now i do have the game in my library and it says that the game is 'unlocked' under the expansion packs tab for my 64-bit sims 3 game, but i cannot download it anywhere. I can only download it for the regular version of the game that doesn't work for my macbook (catalina) and if i download it from the old version of the game, it download that version of the base game as well which i don't want. Can this be fixed?

I just downloaded the new Sims 3 64-bit and only two of my expansion packs (into the future, and island paradise) actually downloaded from origin into the game. I have all the other expansions and a few stuff packs. When I put in the codes for those they were redeemed, but when I look at it, it just says unlocked. There is no download button. I was wondering if there is a fix for this. I can't play in some of my old save file worlds because the expansions didn't transfer over. Please help!

I have all the expansions and most of the stuff packs. They are installed via Origin. I have tried logging in and out of Origin. I have done Repair Game in Origin. They're all showing as installed in Origin. Quitting Origin. Running without Custom Content. Clearing the Cache files, script error files, and minidump files. Removing the Packages file and running without that.

Hi! I tried every solution to my problem the internet or an EA adviser could give me (resetting my router, deleting and reinstalling the packs, deleting my mods, uninstalling and reinstalling origin,) but nothing will work. This has never happened in the 2 years I have played TS3, and only happened after I bought Showtime (from origin) Before that, I had everything but Showtime and Ambitions, and the stuff packs. (I had High End Loft Stuff and it wont let me re-download, but I don't really care too much for that one.) They all show up In origin as 'installed' but are not in the 'expansions and stuff' tab in TS3 launcher. Please help!

Hi, I've been having the same problem since August. I got a new computer around the time origin updated and for about one day everything worked perfectly. Then it updated and none of my packs worked(I have all of the expansion packs and one stuff pack.) I have tried everything on this threads as well as other threads and I have even contacted EA. I now know that this is a problem that a lot of people have gone through (most likely because of an update of origin) and that EA doesn't listen to their customers. We pay you for your games and the least you can do is help us fix them. I've had this problem for 4 months and no one has helped me fix this. This is an outrage and I think that you should give us our money back if you aren't going to fix the problem.

While discounts on expansion, game, and stuff packs are frequent, it's still incredibly costly to buy everything, so decisions have to be made. These guides are here to help you make them. We offer some broad advice as well as reviews and articles that outline the specific content of each and every expansion, game, and stuff pack.

Stuff packs are very different from expansion and game packs as usually the content is focused on create-a-sim items as well as furniture and decor. Gameplay in stuff packs has, until recently, been very limited, meaning the "know before you buy" format didn't fit. The result was the "things you can only get" series.

These guides explore in more detail clothing, furniture, or decor items in every stuff pack. Since these packs are so heavily focused on items the idea is that these articles will showcase different styles and swatches in more detail.

We also have good old-fashioned previews and reviews for the more recent packs, from Strangerville onwards. Some of these are scored reviews but many of the game and stuff packs are non-scored overviews. These add more opinion to the information you can get from the other articles and can be useful to find out more.

A stuff pack is a smaller add-on pack which typically includes only new objects and clothes for Sims, though some stuff packs do include gameplay changes.[2][3] Stuff packs originated with The Sims 2, and were released for The Sims 3 as well. Starting with The Sims 4, stuff packs are only available as downloadable content, whereas previous stuff packs were available on physical discs. Stuff packs for The Sims 4 typically include 1-3 objects bringing new gameplay, in addition to clothes and existing objects.

A kit is a very small add-on pack which only adds a few new items, in addition to gameplay changes in some kits. It was introduced in The Sims 4: Bust the Dust Kit. Kits are intended to be smaller than stuff packs, and are only available as downloadable content.

A Compilation pack is a collection of one or more individual expansion and/or stuff packs. Bundles, starter packs, and deluxe editions are generally all forms of compilations.

Compilations sometimes, but do not always, contain the base game and one or more expansion packs. This bundling can appeal to people who do not yet own the base game, but are interested in acquiring it and one or more expansions. Compilations are often released several years after the initial release of the games which make up the bundle. The compilation is usually priced closer to that of a full expansion pack, where each of the component expansions or stuff packs would have had its price reduced over time. However, compilations can be released concurrently with the release of one of the component games; this is often simply the new expansion pack paired up with the base game, and sold for a higher price than the expansion alone. Compilation packs typically install all the collected packs simultaneously, eliminating the need to install each pack individually.

An adventure pack is a type of content pack that is unique to The Sims Medieval. Adventure packs are slightly smaller than expansion packs but larger than stuff packs. Currently, the only adventure pack in The Sims series is The Sims Medieval: Pirates & Nobles.

I don't "think" you can because all the expansions are installed and stored within the sims 3 folder on the PC when they install. I would recommend getting a third party hard drive (External) and trying to get all the installs on there, it should fit easily.

This list's primary role is to link you to more information about each expansion and stuff pack. It also serves as a buyer's guide to the game, helping you choose which to buy based on major features of the Expansion. The Sims 3 guide is very well structured for the amount of information it holds. You'll find that if you head to one of the expansion pack sections of the website, you will see a link to all other content that the expansions add to the Sims 3 base game. This doesn't always include traits, lifetime wishes, lifetime rewards, or new objects. I try to mention those in the expansion guides themselves, although 100% are not represented. A lot of decor etc. is irrelevant to gameplay, and this is a gameplay guide. The one exception here are the Stuff Pack pages. People wonder what they're getting when they buy them, so we've shown what they bring to the game. 006ab0faaa
