ReadVault (“the App”) is an offline-first reading and note-taking application designed to help users manage books, track reading progress, and write personal notes. Your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how ReadVault handles information when you use the app.

ReadVault does not collect any personal information.
No names
No email addresses
No phone numbers
No account registration
No login required
1.2 User-Generated Content
All content you create inside the app is stored locally on your device only, including:
Book details (title, author, category, progress)
Uploaded book files (PDF or EPUB)
Reading progress and last read position
Notes created by you
Optional associations between notes and books
This data never leaves your device.
2. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used only to provide the app’s core functionality, such as:
Displaying your book library
Tracking reading progress
Opening PDF and EPUB files
Saving and editing notes
Showing reading statistics
ReadVault does not analyze, sell, share, or transmit your data.
3. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored locally using on-device storage.
No cloud storage is used.
No external servers are contacted.
No backups are made outside your device unless you manually back up your device.
You are fully in control of your data.
4. Internet Usage
ReadVault works entirely offline.
No internet connection is required
No background network activity
No analytics services
No tracking SDKs
5. Third-Party Services
ReadVault does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services.
The app may use open-source libraries solely to enable features such as:
PDF viewing
EPUB reading
Local database storage
These libraries operate locally and do not collect or transmit user data.
6. Permissions
ReadVault may request limited device permissions, strictly for functionality:
File access: To allow you to select and read local PDF or EPUB files
These permissions are used only when you initiate an action (e.g., selecting a book file).
7. Children’s Privacy
ReadVault does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Because the app:
Does not collect personal data
Does not include online features
Does not allow communication with other users
It is safe for general use, including by students.
8. Data Deletion
Because all data is stored locally:
You can delete books or notes individually within the app
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored data
ReadVault has no ability to recover deleted data.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect app changes or legal requirements.
Any updates will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” above.
