The Seo Lab at the Medical College of Georgia studys the gut-brain axis in the context of Alzheimer's disease and neuropsychiatric disease. As our research program is interdisciplinary and encourages applications from individuals with diverse academic or professional backgrounds, including, but not limited, cell and molecular biology, immunology, and Neuroscience.

General responsibilities of our lab members:
Conduct research on Alzheimer’s disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome in Seo laboratory using transgenic mouse models and/or cell-based in-vitro models.
Applicants with expertise in human disease modeling utilizing cutting-edge cellular and organoid systems, including those developed from patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), are encouraged to apply; however, such expertise is not required.
Feed special diets, perform drug treatment and behavioral test to mice.
Performs a standardized protocol collecting mouse specimens including brain and other peripheral organs, preparing these samples for histology and molecular/biochemical analysis.
Cell culturing.
Perform a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, statistical/computational and dissection procedures.
Identifies and implements experimental and analytical pipeline improvements and refinements.
Prepares and submits papers on research.
Develops hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it.
Performs other duties as assigned.
