Anna Joy Williamson, the founder of The SEND Initiative, has a passion for making the name of Jesus famous in the earth. Compelled by the teachings of the Bible, she felt prompted by the Lord to create a nonprofit organization to reach the homeless, the imprisoned, the widows, and the opressed. She has a strong conviction to bring the love of Jesus to hard to reach peoples as well as bridge gaps between churches and ministries. With a background in dance, Anna Joy loves to use the creative arts to engage people in the Gospel.
The vision for the SEND Initiative started to take shape in 2023. After many homeless outreaches and spending time with homeless friends in the DFW area, Anna Joy started to feel the call to transition into full time ministry. Anna Joy began devoting more and more time to prayer nights, organizing mission trips, and local outreaches to preach the gospel in the streets of Dallas. As these events continued to transpire, the fruit of the mission became more and more evident. 2024 and 2025 were spent in partnership with other ministries studying leadership, outreach strategies, personal time of prayer, and time on the field ministering. Anna Joy went on mission trips to Naytahwaush, Minnesota, Veracruz, Mexico, Parkersburg, West Virginia, Reno, Nevada, and on local outreaches in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
In the fall of 2025, the SEND Initiative became an organized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and received tax exemption status in January of 2026. We are excited and expectant to see more people experience the life changing love of Jesus.
