Art is hard. Sometimes there are pictures that must be painted or drawings that demand to be put on paper. But just as many times, there's the canvas that stays blank and the pencils that stay perfectly sharpened. Great artists know, though, that they have something—a story, a feeling, a message—that must be shared with the world. Or at least with their high school.

My name is Lila Hammerstein (she/her). I am 15 year old freshman at BHSS. One of my biggest hobbies is photography. Photography first captured my interest two years ago when I took pictures of some seemingly normal bunches of grass. I found that the photos incapsulated them in a perspective I didn't think was possible. I find it intriguing how one small moment can be captured forever and display the beauty in life that we typically gloss over.
