Bridging the education gap in Bangladesh

The most important problems High School Students in Bangladesh face include lack of focus on practical and life-oriented education, limited resources and technology and a poor curriculum. Science education is simply based on theoretical knowledge with a poorer practical curriculum. In public schools in further parts from the capital, most students don’t even attend classes as they seem ineffective. Additionally, they have limited options for extracurricular activities. All of these together impact a student in understanding complex scientific concepts and use them to solve problems. As a result, only a little group of students know clearly about their goals and how they want to achieve it. Our project aims at making students aware of the diversified fields with live interactions with field professionals. As we are focusing on science, we would like to help them experience scientific investigations, projects and research and enflame their interest in science. As we go forward, we would work with parents, teachers, policymakers and students to make a learning-friendly environment in schools.
We recognize the unequal access to quality education faced by different demographic groups in Bangladesh. This goal focuses on dismantling barriers and ensuring inclusive learning opportunities for everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background, gender, location, or ability. Scibridge Initiative is developing targeted programs for underserved communities. We are promoting STEM education in rural areas. We are providing resources to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and creating culturally-relevant learning materials that resonate with diverse learners.
SciBridge Initiative believes that every student deserves access to engaging and effective science education. This goal strives to improve the pedagogy, curriculum, and resources available to teachers and students. We are developing interactive and inquiry-based science curricula that spark curiosity and critical thinking. We are providing hands-on learning experiences through experiments, projects, and field trips. We are helping in equipping schools with modern science labs and equipment.
SciBridge Initiative understands the importance of fostering a scientifically literate society. This goal aims to equip individuals with the fundamental knowledge and skills which will help them critically analyze information ,make informed decisions based on evidence and understand scientific concepts relevant to everyday life and global challenges. They will be able to engage in constructive conversations about science and technology and participate in responsible citizenship informed by scientific understanding.
SciBridge Initiative recognizes the interconnectedness of humanity and the planet. This goal aims to educate and empower individuals to become responsible stewards of the environment. We are working to integrate environmental education into science curricula and raise awareness about sustainability and climate change. We are engaging students in projects that promote environmental conservation and social justice and encouraging responsible consumption and eco-friendly practices.
Our Workshop is designed to make science education an interactive and hands-on experience. Our practical science activities provide a unique and innovative approach to learning, making the subject matter exciting and engaging. Our student-centered model ensures that all participants have the opportunity to explore and learn science in a collaborative and supportive environment.
We offer experiential learning, a dynamic approach that bridges the gap between theory and practice. Through hands-on projects, students will collaborate with scientists gaining real-world skills and evidence-based thinking. We emphasize resourcefulness, creativity, and critical thinking, preparing the next generation for success in diverse fields.
We believe that knowledge should not be confined by paywalls and any other barriers. That is why, most of our educational resources will be open for use by the mass people. There will be free instructions on how to use the resources properly too.
We believe in the power of connectivity. Our core value is to 'bridge' the gap among people. We are focused on creating an intellectual community and accelerating share of knowledge. The biggest problems of our country can only be solved by the community of young innovators with an experienced set of mentors.

Shako, an AI-driven application focused on student needs, aims to tackle educational challenges by offering study guidance, addressing resource shortages, and providing quality education. The app supports various communication modes, including voice and written commands, ensuring accessibility for students with special needs. To bridge educational gaps in Bangladesh, Shako will be designed to communicate effectively in Bangla. Also, to ensure diverse knowledge for students, information will be collected from English sources as well and translated to Bangla and explained in easy terms.
