Strike signed Emily’s death warrant in his exchange with Wace, I think, despite his care in not implicating people. Telling the Principals he knew Reaney overslept (803) was sharing information that only Emily could have told Robin. If she wasn’t killed after Robin escaped, she’ll be vegetable fodder soon in the Dragon Meadow, a graveyard garden that made her so averse to eating anything grown there.

Well, The Running Grave is from a quotation by Dylan Thomas. "When, like a running grave, time tracks you down'. So for me, that the significance of that quotation is old deeds catching up with people. Obviously, also mortality catching up with people. So Strike's sense of his own mortality is important in this book. But interestingly the Norfolk poet George Barker also used the phrase the running grave in his poem. And that is also mentioned in the book. So I think, although it's given translators for this novel a huge headache, because the running grave doesn't quite work in other languages, I love it. I think it's very evocative the idea of the grave dishewing, you like a wave, but also all of us knowing one day we must die. Which can, actually, be a reminder to live and that too is in this book. Strike really now starting to ask questions of himself about how he wants to spend the second half of his life so it really works for me.

Under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith, J.K. Rowling has now produced seven increasingly hefty crime novels in 10 years, all featuring private detectives Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. Last year’s instalment, The Ink Black Heart, got mixed reviews mainly because of the lengthy back-channel conversations held by a group of moderators running a cult-level online game, and the study of a religious cult in this new novel follows on from the premise of the previous one.

The race already has four GOP candidates: Attorney General Jeff Landry, Treasurer John Schroder, state Sen. Sharon Hewitt and state Rep. Richard Nelson. Lake Charles businessman Hunter Lundy, a political independent, has also said he is running.

I am sure I heard that one when I was little but not here lately. . I never liked anything about graveyards. I Never sat in on spooky story times and when they started I got up and left. I do recall some sayings like this one but must have put it out of my head a long time ago.

When his sexton finds a corpse in the wrong grave, the rector of Fenchurch

St Paul asks Lord Peter Wimsey to find out who the dead man was and how

he came to be there.

The lore of bell-ringing and a brilliantly-evoked village in the remote fens of

East Anglia are the unforgettable background to a story of an old unsolved crime

and its violent unravelling twenty years later.

'I admire her novels ... she has great fertility of invention, ingenuity and a wonderful

eye for detail' Ruth Rendell
