If you are serious about learning more about the science of AI, then the next book you should read is Russell and Norvig's Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach. This is the standard undergraduate text on AI - it has encyclopaedic coverage of the field, and is unlikely to be surpassed any time soon. The book has associated with it a very extensive code repository, so if you want to start AI programming, this is the place to go.
