The Restatements are a rock band out of Washington, DC formed by three friends in law school. Not only did J.R. Molm (Lead and Backing Vocals, Lyrics), Jarred Barlow (Bass, Guitars, Programming), and Zack Hawkins (Lead Guitar) all live in the same on-campus building, they had identical class schedules too. After a number of other inexplicable coincidences, they were a band. They began recording their debut album in between the daily grind of classes, reading, and exams.

Inspired by a blend of contemporary pop and classic rock, The Restatements capture a unique, candid sound centered around common thoughts and emotions. They aim to restate the importance of music, integrity, and having a good time — even when there are a million different things to worry about.
