There are a lot of things that make the U.S. version of The Office a wonderful show. However, there was one thing that managed to capture the fans' attention from the very beginning: the intro and the theme music. However, did fans know that the show's editors had planned to go with a different theme song?

"If the shots of Michael and Andy, and the other characters who have inhabited the manager's desk represent that being at this office is about why they're there in the first place, to do work," he said, "then the Jim/Pam kiss shot that we use to end the main title sequence represents the other number one reason why they're all there - for fun, friends, and love." Given that The Office contained many sweet friendships that fans love rewatching, it is quite a fitting scene.

The famous music that fans have come to associate with the Office intro was created by composer James Ferguson. If that name sounds a bit familiar, that is because The Office is not the only well-known television show that Ferguson has made music for.

The cast of the American version of The Office was so involved in the creation of the show that they got the chance to help the creators choose what song would become the theme of it. Actor Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott on the show, has talked about how the intro to The Office was chosen, and the fact that the cast got to vote on it.

This got my mind wondering if I could do something similar for the office, perhaps something I could attach to my monitor instead of being a wearableprop, and perhaps responding to project build status in Jenkins or alertingmetrics.

The fun remake video is loaded with Easter Eggs from both projects that fans will recognize instantly.

In a nod to some of the main characters in The Office, the remake video features the main creatures from the Despicable Me and Minions franchise. Kevin, who is seen dressed up like Rainn Wilson's Dwight Schrute, sits at his desk and discovers the stapler in the Jell-O, an iconic moment from The Office. Stuart, who wears a wig in order to look like John Krasinski's Jim Halpert, is on the phone as he fires a grenade launcher, probably hinting at Halpert's sense of humor in the series. Bob fills in for Jenna Fischer's Pam Beesly at the reception desk. Otto replicates the funny chili spill moment from The Office. Finally, Gru is the Michael Scott of the Minions office with his boss trophy, a nod towards Carrell because he plays both characters.

We do know certain things about them, however. A UBS survey of 230 family offices released earlier this year found that 9 per cent of their total wealth had been channelled into private equity-style investments. Increasingly, they are buying up stakes in established private companies and providing VC-style funding for growth businesses.

So perhaps we should expect more to see more new faces popping up on social media or in your email inbox, advertising themselves as conduits to the secret realm of private wealth. The family office world is nothing if not opaque; and for a certain type of savvy self-promoter that creates an opportunity too good to miss.
