PICTURES OF THE MONTHS

For this year's calendar, Ive returned to the practice of singling out images that reflect the character of the month they're taken in. Also, as always, these images are meant to show off the beauty and diversity of the Pacific Northwest's mise-en-scene (a word I didn't know until I just looked up synonyms for 'environment' and decided to use it in the hope that it would make my calendar sound much fancier.)

Whether it's a semi-frozen riverbank warmed only by the long red rays of the setting sun, or purple auroras dancing off Crown Point at the summer solstice, all of these pictures showcase locations that can be familiar haunts for the denizens of Portland and the surrounding areas.
