Survivor’s Ancient Voices- Theme Song

Survivor would not be Survivor without its theme song, “Ancient Voices.” The theme song kicks off every episode with its war-like chant. The drums pounding, voices recurringly chanting, and the tension rising, before a challenge or strategic blindside is in the works. The composer, Russ Landau, mixes his tribal percussion with intense vocals, and intentionally works in locational (season-matching) instruments. For example, Landau used a sitar in India and a bamboo flute in Fiji, the music created invites you to the location, the island, and the contests before Jeff Probst says the iconic words “Come on in!”
