,,Wonder Woman

1984"-review

Hey, guys! Today we are going to talk about the new DC Comics movie, Wonder Woman 1984 or WW84. I’m going to be brutally honest, because when you are locked in your house for more than a year, you don’t really have something to do, but you do honest reviews on Tv series and movies that you watch :). I love a good movie with superheroes like the ones that DC Comics make, but was the new movie up to expectations?!

On the one hand, the film started absolutely perfectly, with the origin story of Diana or Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, but along the way it turned into a film with a predictable and feminist action. Not that I would have anything against it, because I probably wanted to convey a message by developing the character "Barb", played by Kristen Wiig, who started from the stereotype of the nerd who turns into a woman like Diana, but who is thirsty for power. And, this message, in my opinion, did not capture the definite outline I was expecting.

Another common and boring stereotype is the thirsty type of success and wealth, whose business is not going well and doing scams. Until he finds the magic object that gets rid of his bad luck, but he is greedy and wants him to fulfill wishes and be a very influential man. The character I'm talking about is none other than Maxwell Lord, taking his life through Pedro Pascal. In addition, he was very irritating and an absolutely terrible father for his little boy.

I also conceived the film, as a sequel to the other, which took place during a world war. Where they focused on Wonder Woman's adventures with her new friends and her love life. It would have been much easier and more captivating to follow the narrative thread of the first film, without such a big leap into the future.

On the other hand, I understand that time space in the future, quite well defined, how Diana had not yet overcome the death of her beloved Steve Trevor, Chris Pine, who is reincarnated in another body, but who sacrifices himself for the love of his life and its power. And I like how citrine, however, became an eponymous character, as did Maxwell, when Diana should have been the center of the story, it was just sarcasm, I didn't like it at all. However, the beginning was very well built, and Diana's origins were formed and outlined very meticulously, which for me is a plus. In the end, we will add another plus because the attention returns to Wonder Woman and everything returns to normal, even if that means Gal Gadot's character lost the one played by Chris Pine.

In the same optimistic tone, I found the citrine technique enchanting, which fulfills desires, but at the same time takes something in return, just as Barb took his friendship, Diana, power and Maxwell, almost the child, they gave up the desire.

In conclusion, it is not the best film made by DC, made in these years full of advanced technology, but it is not the worst. As a rating I gave it indulgently, compared to the first film, 7.9 stars out of 10, for it was no abomination, nor brilliant as the first was.
