Entrepreneur's Blueprint: Strategies and Lessons for Success

TLE's Founders, LIM Puay Hoon (NUS) and YAO Kathleen (UCLA) co-authored this work in 2003 when entrepreneurship was not yet in vogue in Singapore.

In it, they distiled real-life stories of failure and success, from food and craft to gaming, music, fashion,  information technology & real estate.  Each chapter focuses on a single entrepreneur and a single industry, capped with easily applicable principles and practical advice at the end.

Recognising this as a breakthrough work that could help kickstart many in their journey towards setting up their own private enterprise, then Chairman of the Economic Development Board (EDB) Teo Ming Kian graciously penned the foreword to encourage the nation.

EGGPLANT MAGAZINE (蛋树) 2004 & 2005

A bilingual (Chinese & English) magazine for children by children, roughly 50% of the magazine contained stories, poems and artwork by students from 7-16 years old.  Contributions from Singapore, Cambodia, Philippines and Norway made it into the two volumes.  Unfortunately, TLE could not sustain the publication despite its popularity among the students due to the competitive local landscape where others dropped the prices of their magazine to free.

The Rogues Gallery

As the magazine endeavoured to have at least 50% of it's content be stories and illustrations by the children themselves, Eggplant encouraged artists from both primary as well as secondary school to submit their works and rewarded them monetarily for their work.  The group would come to be known as the rogues gallery of artists who came in all shapes, sizes, interests and walks of life.

Benny the Boar and the Island of Granite

Under the imprint Labrador Publishing House, TLE produced several small booklets and artwork borne out of the pandemic from 2020-2022.  Of these, Benny the Boar was a fan favourite as students followed his antics throughout Pulau Ubin (Island of Granite).

Designed to be a companion book for young students (9-12) exploring the island's flora and fauna for the first time, it touches on the history of the island but focuses mainly on its non-human inhabitants and their amazing qualities and abilities.
