This policy explains what ListenerZ collects, why, and what control you have over it. Anonymity between users is central to how the service works.
ListenerZ. For any privacy question, contact [privacy@the-listenerz.com].
1. What we collect
Account details — the email address and name you register with, your chosen avatar, and your account type (Individual, Family, Corporate, Employee, or Listener).
Family and corporate members — the name, relation or job title, age and email of anyone added to a family or corporate account by its administrator.
Usage data — call times, durations, session history and credit balances.
Payment details — see section 5.
Listener payout details — for people who earn on ListenerZ: bank name, account holder name, account type, and the last four digits of the account and routing numbers.
Device and diagnostic data — device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs and error reports needed to keep the app working.
2. Your voice
Calls are processed through a voice filter so your natural voice is not identifiable to the person you are speaking to. Pitch, speed and the voice avatar you pick are settings on your account.
Calls are not recorded or stored. Audio is processed only for as long as it takes to carry the call, and is never retained by us or by any third party after the call ends.
3. What other users see
Other users never see your real name, email address or contact details. You are shown to them by your caller handle and the voice avatar you chose. Listeners see only what is needed to take your call.
4. How we use your information
• To create and operate your account and authenticate you.
• To connect and carry voice calls.
• To take payment for calls and pay Listeners their earnings.
• To enforce family and corporate account rules, including guardian approval for members under 18.
• To detect fraud, abuse and violations of our Terms of Service.
• To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
• To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
5. Payment details
Card payments are handled by our payment processor. Your full card number and CVV are sent directly to that processor and are never stored by us. We keep only the card brand, the last four digits, the cardholder name and the expiry date, so you can recognise a saved card.
Listener payouts are settled through the same processor. We keep only the display details listed in section 1; full account and routing numbers are not retained by us.
6. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, for the purposes above:
• [SUPABASE / your hosting and database provider]— account data, usage records and authentication.
• [PAYMENT PROCESSOR, e.g. Stripe, Inc.]— payment and payout processing.
• [VOICE / CALLING PROVIDER]— carrying live voice calls (no call audio is retained).
• [CRASH AND ANALYTICS PROVIDER, if any]— diagnostic and crash data.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
7. Family accounts and users under 18
A parent or guardian account holder can see call counts and usage for the members they add, and approves or rejects call requests from members under 18. They do not have access to the content of calls, because no call content is retained.
ListenerZ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Members under 18 may only be added by a parent or guardian who consents to that collection on their behalf. If you believe a child has been added without proper consent, contact [privacy@yourdomain.com] and we will remove the data.
8. Corporate accounts
Where an employer sponsors your seat, the account administrator can see your seat status, sponsored minute allowance and usage totals. They cannot see who you called, what was said, or any call content.
9. How long we keep information
• Account data— for as long as your account is active.
• Call metadata(times, durations, amounts) — up to[X]years, for support, dispute resolution and accounting.
• Payment and payout records— as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically 7 years.
• Call audio— never retained.
• Diagnostic data— up to[X]months.
When you delete your account, we remove your profile and account data. We keep only what law requires us to keep, in a form that is no longer used to identify you for service purposes.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel. Full card numbers, CVVs and full bank account numbers never reach our systems — they are validated on your device and sent directly to our payment processor.
11. Your choices and rights
• Review and update your profile from Settings.
• Remove a family member from the Family Members screen.
• Delete your account from Settings — this removes your profile and account data.
• Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct, export or erase it.
• Withdraw consent where we rely on it, and object to or restrict certain processing.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of these, contact [privacy@yourdomain.com]. We respond within 30 days.
12. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including [COUNTRY/REGION]. Where we transfer data out of the UK, EEA or your home jurisdiction, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above changes when we do, and we will notify you in the app for material changes.
