Rizal went to Paris to acquire more knowledge in Opthalmology
He worked as an assistant while in Paris to a leading French Opthalmologist.
November 3, 1882- he enrolled Medicine at the Universidad Central de Madrid.
June 21, 1884- he was awarded the degree of Licenciate in Medicine by the Universidad Central de Madrid
1885- completed degree in Doctor of Medicine but was not awarded his Doctor’s diploma.
Feb. 21, 1887- Noli Me Tangere was finished and ready for printing. Maximo Viola funded the printing cost.
March 29, 1887- Rizal gave a copy of the novel and complimentary copy dedicated to Viola.
May 11, 1887- Rizal and Viola left Berlin and reach Rome by the 27th of June, 1887.
Rizal returned to the Philippines and begun writing his second novel while practicing medicine in Calamba. By 1888, he made some corrections and changes to the plot.
Rizal wrote more chapters in Paris and Madrid and finally finished the manuscript
Rizal left Brussels for Ghent, a famous university in Belgium
Sep. 18, 1891- El Filibusterismo was published. He gave the original manuscript to Valentin Ventura.
Feb. 15, 1892- Rizal became a Master Mason in Paris
July 3, 1892- Rizal organized the civic organization, La Liga Filipina, which caters mostly to illustrados. One of the attendees was Andres Bonifacio.
