Interdisciplinary Unit (IDU)
Interdisciplinary Unit (IDU)
The Interdisciplinary Unit (IDU) encourages students to connect knowledge and skills from different subjects to solve real-world problems. By combining perspectives, students learn to think critically, collaborate effectively, and apply their understanding innovatively, connecting concepts learned in all subjects together. IDU challenges students to embrace a holistic approach to learning, preparing them for complex global challenges and what it means to be an IB Learner.
Although the IDU Pre-release material changes every year in relation to the global context of that session, its core purpose remains the same; to encourage students to make meaningful connections between disciplines and apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems.
