Distance Measuring Devices - (Rule 4.3a - (1) Range Finders
Distance measuring devices will be allowed but the slope feature must remain turned off for the entire round.
Local Rule F-5 (Sprinkler Heads)
Immovable obstructions close to putting greens. Ball in general area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is: on the line of play and is within 2 club-lengths of the green, and within 2 club-lengths of the ball.
Obstructions
Cement tree basins, artificial drains, designated protective fences, bridges, poles supporting trees and guy wires, and concrete drain basins and pipes: Drop without penalty, within one club length of nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole. (Rule 16.1) Wire crossing #8 tee: If a ball strikes the wire, it must be replayed, no penalty. (Rule E-11) Any object attached to a boundary fence (ie: hose or pipe): are deemed to be an integral part of the course, no relief. (Rule 2h) Sand bags, and dirt piles in penalty areas: Drop without penalty, within one club length of nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole. (F23)
Abnormal Course Conditions
Embedded ball: In general area, a ball which is embedded in its own pitchmark in the ground, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay, within one club length, no nearer the hole. (Rule 16.3a) Practice green, practice bunkers, and nursery greens: The ball must be lifted and dropped within one club length of nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole, no penalty.
Ball Lost or Out of Bounds
Alternative to stroke and distance: will not be used for tournament play. (Committee)
Penalty Area – Hole #4
If your ball is in the penalty area, and you are standing on the cart path, you do not receive free relief. If you can’t find your ball in the penalty area, you must replay your next shot from where it was last played.
Drop Area – Hole #7
For balls which are deemed unplayable near the fences around #7 green, players may elect to use the designated drop area, one stroke penalty. A players tee shot that is in question of being O.B., please play a provisional ball for pace of play purposes.
