The Kurmujun are a 4-piece Rock Band from the Cambridge area specialising in classic and progressive rock. The band was formed in 2006 by Mick Holloway, Stuart Pledger and Peter Boyd. The Kurmújun became a four piece with the addition of Phil Morgan on vocals in 2009 and Rob Holloway replaced Peter Boyd on Bass in 2012. In 2023 Rob Holloway took a step back from most live work and Peter Boyd has returned on Bass for most gigs, with Rob Holloway playing the occasional gig. We feature the music of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rush, David Bowie, The Beatles Joe Bonamassa, Pearl Jam, Muse, Cream, ELP and Jimi Hendrix as well as many other bands.The basic line up is guitar, bass, drums and vocals but this is augmented by keyboards, bass pedals and occasional additional guitar.

STUART PLEDGER
LEAD GUITAR / KEYS / MIDI PEDALS / BV’S
Stuart has been playing guitar for over 30 years. He is a naturally gifted player whose technical wizardary makes sure the band captures a song perfectly. Not only does he play lead guitar he also plays a set of Roland PK5 midi bass pedals and Roland guitar synth which are used for extra keyboard parts. Stuart also adds backing vocals.
MICK HOLLOWAY
DRUMS / KEYS / TECH
Born in London, Mick has been playing drums for over 45 years. He has a great love of classic vintage kits, especially Hayman, Ludwig and Gretsch. Mick is a very forceful and musical drummer and provides a great balance of tight playing when required and a looser jazzier feel when the band is able to stretch out on the more jam-based sections. Mick is also responsible for producing and playing various sound effects and some keyboards during the live show.
PHIL MORGAN
VOCALS / RHYTHM GUITAR / KEYS
Born in the North East, Phil originally trained as a drummer, making the switch to vocals some years later. He spent several years in London singing (or drumming) in such prestigious venues as The Marquee and The Borderline. Phil also plays rhythm guitar and keyboards.
Pete was born near Nottingham. However at the age of 5 moved to Wolverhampton the epicentre of the Heavy Metal movement. He started playing Bass at the age of 14 and few years later he also began playing the Flute and Keyboard’s. By the late 1970s Pete had moved to Cambridge.
Rob is a solid, versatile and creative bassist with over 25 years playing experience. He posesses a natural gift for rhythm which, when partnered with Mick, gives the band an enviable rhythm section. Rob can also augment the low frequency range using a set of Roland PK5a midi pedals linked to a Moog Minitaur bass synth.
