What is Data Visualization?

A Canadian elementary international teacher who has lived in five countries and most recently taught in Hanoi, Vietnam. Nathalie is passionate about helping teachers to feel comfortable and effective with implementing technology in the classroom. 

With the Masters of Educational Technology degree at The University of British Columbia there are so many new avenues and pathways to be able to impact education beyond her classroom. 

Data visualization is a tool that she uses in her practice to be able to connect the students to the information in a more concrete way and she is fascinated by where data visualization could go.

A high school teacher and administrator, Steve has been tasked with building a post-secondary guidance program in an Independent School in Kelowna. 

UBC's Master of Educational Technology program is helping him to build a toolbox that will assist him in building an accessible and supportive program.

Data Visualization is an important area of development for him in presenting data to students, alumni, and parents. Effective presentation of data supports and encourages the school community.

David is an English teacher at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Hong Kong who is captivated by the potential of data visualization to uncover trends and patterns within his classroom. He believes that such visual insights can guide him in adapting his teaching strategies to more effectively meet his students' needs.

Recently, David began using the Verso App, a program that employs a variety of data visualizations to help him intuitively understand the information provided by digital reflections and discussions. Armed with these insights, he can make informed decisions that enhance the learning experience for his students.
