Welcome to The Information Web.
A young boy named Brandon, aged seven years old, has been ran over by a bus on the way back home in Toome. Brandon was walking on the way back from his primary school, when a bus driver for Translink accidentally ran him over. From recollections of passengers and bystanders, something got stuck underneath the bus driver's brakes, perhaps a fruit or box, and he couldn't stop the bus, hitting Brandon. His mother has said "He was a shining beacon of pure light and love. I wish he hadn't gone so soon".
Brandon's father died when he was around three years of age, so we couldn't get to interview him.
Ultimately, Translink got sued for £500,000 by the boy's mother due to the incident. They made an open statement on their Facebook. "We are very sorry for the carelessness of our bus drivers and promise to be more careful. We hope you have the best experience on our Translink buses."
