Name and Title: Mia Soto (she/her) - Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Website Editor, and Graphic Designer
What compelled you to start IBR?: I remember how invisible I felt when I first entered the literary magazine scene as a melancholic author. Not many zines (that I came across, at least) were interested in promoting desolate, honest material, so though I would still sometimes receive acceptance letters, they didn't feel empowering. I felt misunderstood and to be transparent, I often viewed myself as just a "filler" author (someone only there to add diversity among themes). The experience of that, combined with my profound love for melancholic artistry as a whole, inclined me to create The Infinite Blues Review, a space where these voices can be appreciated, promoted, and read.
Favorite melancholic media:Â
Favorite writers - Sylvia Plath and T.S. Eliot
Favorite movie - "Girl, Interrupted"
Where can we find your best published work?:
Honestly, I don't believe I have a "best published work". Everything I write comes from the different dimensions of my heart, but if you're inclined to try determining this, go visit my "writing" highlights on Instagram and take a look at my publications.
