The High Life Guide is developed and operated by Urban Digital Labs Ltd.
This Privacy Policy explains what information The High Life Guide may collect, why it is collected, how it is used, how long it may be retained, and the choices and rights available to users.
By using The High Life Guide, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
Urban Digital Labs Ltd is the data controller responsible for personal information processed through The High Life Guide.

The High Life Guide may collect the following categories of information.
If you create an account, we collect your email address.
Your email address is used for:
Account registration and authentication
Password recovery
Account management
Providing features associated with your account
We do not use your email address for third-party advertising.
Registered accounts are assigned a unique user identifier.
This identifier allows us to associate account-related features with the correct user, including saved information, account permissions and usage information where applicable.
With your permission, The High Life Guide may access your precise location.
Location may be used to provide app functionality such as:
Displaying venues in relation to your location
Map functionality
Helping you find nearby venues
Assisting with navigation and directions
Location information is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
You can control location permission through your device settings.
The High Life Guide creates a randomly generated installation identifier for an installation of the app.
This identifier may be used to understand:
How many installations are actively using the app
General app activity
Usage trends
The effectiveness of app features
The installation identifier is randomly generated and is not based on advertising identifiers, IMEI numbers, device serial numbers or similar hardware identifiers.
Where a user is signed into an account, some app activity may also be associated with that user's account.
The High Life Guide may record searches performed within the app.
This can include:
Search terms entered
Venues searched for
Searches that return no results
The time a search was performed
Search information is used for analytics and to understand what users are looking for so that we can improve venue coverage, search results and future app features.
We do not collect every character typed into a search field. Analytics are based on meaningful searches performed within the app.
We may collect information about how users interact with important features of The High Life Guide.
This can include interactions such as:
Viewing venue listings
Using search
Viewing maps
Opening the Trip Planner
Adding or removing venues from a Trip Planner
Requesting directions to a venue
Viewing partner content
Opening review functionality
Attempting to access Premium features
Using other significant app features
This information is used to understand which parts of the app are useful, identify features that may need improvement, and help guide future development.
For registered users, we may record when the app was last actively used.
This is separate from the user's authentication or last sign-in date.
Activity information may also be used to calculate statistics such as:
Active users today
Active users during the last 7 days
Active users during the last 30 days
Information collected by The High Life Guide may be used to:
Provide and operate the app
Authenticate registered users
Recover user accounts
Provide maps and location-based functionality
Save user preferences and Trip Planner information
Maintain favourites and other account features
Understand app usage
Measure feature popularity
Identify unsuccessful searches and missing content
Understand demand for future Premium features
Understand when users request directions to venues
Improve app reliability and usability
Develop new features and services
Protect the security and integrity of the platform
Respond to privacy, account and support requests
Where UK data protection law applies, we process personal information on one or more of the following lawful bases:
Contract / service delivery — where processing is necessary to provide an account or requested app functionality.
Legitimate interests — where necessary to operate, secure, understand and improve The High Life Guide, including first-party analytics, provided those interests are not overridden by users' rights and interests.
Consent — where required, including permission-based device features such as precise location.
Users may withdraw device permissions through their device settings.
The High Life Guide uses first-party analytics to understand how the app is being used.
Analytics may be linked to a registered user's account where the user is signed in.
For users who are not signed in, analytics may instead be associated with the randomly generated installation identifier.
Analytics may include:
Search activity
Venue views
Trip Planner interactions
Navigation requests
Use of major app features
Attempts to access Premium features
General activity and usage timestamps
Analytics are used solely to understand and improve The High Life Guide.
We do not use this information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
The High Life Guide does not currently use collected information for:
Third-party targeted advertising
Advertising measurement across other companies' apps or websites
Data-broker profiling
Cross-app tracking
We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
The High Life Guide uses third-party infrastructure providers where necessary to operate the app.
This includes services such as Supabase, which provides services including authentication, database functionality and secure backend infrastructure.
These providers may process information on our behalf only as required to provide their services.
When users choose to open external navigation or mapping services, those services may separately process information according to their own privacy policies.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Account information is retained while an account remains active or where reasonably necessary to provide the service.
Usage and analytics information may be retained to allow us to understand longer-term trends and improve The High Life Guide.
At present, analytics data is not automatically deleted after a fixed short-term period.
Retention arrangements may be reviewed as the service grows.
Information may also be retained where reasonably necessary for:
Security
Fraud prevention
Legal obligations
Resolving disputes
Protecting the rights of users or Urban Digital Labs Ltd
