I'm not going to tell you if Gatsby was a great man (it's up to you whether you believe so or not), but... I can assure you that The Great Gatsby is one of the greatest and most beloved novels written in English. As you know, in class we have seen Baz Luhrmann's 2013 film versi0n (which is quite accurate, to be honest), so now we're done, I want to check if you've been paying attention. That's why I've decided to create a treasure hunt for you. It sounds good, doesn't it?
Well, don't expect a treasure chest full of gold coins and dazzling jewels, for that's not going to happen. I'm sorry to dissapoint you, guys. Let's begin!
One morning you wake up and realise that you are in a place you don't recognise. You are surrounded by men dressed in elegant suits and women wearing sparkling short dresses with long necklaces hanging off their necks (weren't these women called flappers?). Jazz music (coming from a band playing music on a stage) fills your soul.
Suddenly, you feel overwhelmed by so much ostentation. Everything around you looked like something out of a movie. Wait... Oh, god... That's it! You are in one of Gatsby's parties! It seems you've travelled back in time to the 1920s.
You feel a hand on your shoulder and you turn back. There he is. Jay Gatsby himself. Once you meet his eyes, it suddenly strikes you. You now understand why you are there. You have a mission to take care of: finding out Gatsby's true nature. Thanks to your English lessons you remember that everyone who knew him seemed to agree that he was a mysterious and great man, but... was he?
