Those look amazing! I love the Great Gatsby and so excited for this movie that I will pay good money to have the babysitters come. The fonts are so cool and the dress adorable! Found you from the link party Made In a Day and following all.

Heather,

If you absolutely must use a font, perhaps because your content is dynamic, there are a few typefaces in this genre that do a fairly good job of simulating handwriting: Mr Sheffield, Mr Leopolde, Miss Robertson, Dear Sarah, P22 Hopper, Brisa, Handsome, Rollerscript, or the more decorative Olicana, which was coincidentally used for an effect elsewhere in the Gatsby film.

From the color to the style to the spacing, the right typography can make or break a design. And when your design is a book cover, which relies on words to retain readers, the importance of your book cover font grows tenfold.

Since styles take a little extra time to download and get injected into the head, the icon is momentarily unstyled. Fabian Terh has a really great Medium article, "Fixing flashing huge Font Awesome icons on a Gatsby static site", which does a great job of explaining the why if you want a more thorough explanation.

4. Forgot to use italic font for book titles, database names, newspaper titles, magazine titles, journal titles, website names, and film titles.

Always use italics for the title of a major, lengthy work. Examples: The Great Gatsby, Academic Search Complete, Proquest Research Library, The New York Times, National Geographic, The Journal of the American Medical Association, The Huffington Post.

Run subfont on the files you are ready to deploy to a static file hosting service. If these are build artifacts from another build system, and not the original files, run subfont path/to/artifacts/index.html -i to have subfont clobber the dist files in their original location.

If you want to run directly against your raw original files, it is recommended to create a recursive copy of your files which you run subfont on. This keeps your original authoring abstraction unchanged.

If you have a use case where the automatic tracing doesn't find all the characters you need, you can tell subfont to include specific characters in the subsets by adding a custom -subfont-text property to the respective @font-face declarations.

You can have subfont output a copy of your input files to a new directory. This uses Assetgraph to trace a dependency graph of your website and writes it to your specified output directory. Be aware of any errors or warnings that might indicate Assetgraph having problems with your code, and be sure to double check that the expected files are in the output directory. Run subfont path/to/index.html -o path/to/outputDir.

You can also have subfont scrape a website directly using http and write the output to local disk. This use is likely to fail in a number of ways and should mostly considered a demo feature if you just want to give the tool a quick go to see what it will do to your page. Run subfont -o path/to/outputDir.

In her new series of edited classics, Karen Swallow Prior, professor of English and Christian & Culture at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, invites readers to return to (or read for the first time) works that continue to ask and answer questions of modern readers. We are not the first to ask questions about the relationship between science and religion, identity, and the juxtaposition of true faith and nominal Christianity. In returning to these great works of literature, Prior hopes to give readers a chance to wrestle with those questions in new ways guided by their Christian faith.

My publishing team and I put a great deal of thought into the cover colors, design, finish, the paper, the ribbon marker, and even the font. (The font and page layout were improved even more with the second set.) These are volumes to own for a lifetime and to pass down. My copies join books on my shelves that have done the same, books that are now 100 or 200 years old.
