Since updating the firmware on my pioneer 4400NEX to 1.02, my wireless android auto has been broken. I have a pixel 3xl on android 11 and it worked flawlessly until this firmware upgrade to the head unit. In the course of my troubleshooting I found that android 10 WILL work wirelessly with the 1.02 firmware, but there is something about the combination of android 11 and pioneer's 1.02 firmware that don't play nice together. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of issue with the wifi "handshake." Anyway... there is no simple way to downgrade firmware on the 4400. So after months of troubleshooting, I finally found an ebay seller willing to sell me an original 4400NEX factory image ver 1.0 that I could write to a new sd card and install it in the head unit's internal sd card slot. This seller also provided me with the upgrade package for 1.01. After installing the new sd card and upgrading to 1.01, all my problems are solved! Wireless android auto connects again via android 11 within seconds of starting my truck. So if anyone here is experiencing this same, super specific issue, I can send you the link with the 1.0 disk image so you can downgrade! I'm just so happy to have my AA wireless back!

[also never mind about my references to the "Pioneer Connect" app - I'm pretty sure that's a non-starter. I'm just looking for *any* way to make my android phone (HTC One) work with my 3300BT (other than through the headphone jack)

HI all, Arduino noob here!

I just got an old pioneer car stereo for free, and I would like to listen to my android media an control the player via the head unit for security reasons, using the ip bus connector (the one used by cd changers).

I found a pioneer cd changer emulator that uses an ATMega8 to interface an usb mp3 player (yammp3). I have attached the schematics and the source code since I cannot acces the website today.

I just discovered that android ADK has audio over usb capabilities, so it's just a matter of translating the code of the emulator and adapting it to my needs (time to remember my programming skills!).

I also realized that arduino due is ADK ready and has a CAN bus interface, and that there's a library available so I think is the ideal for this project!

according to this, I only need a CAN transceiver (with built in comparator) and few other components to get the phisical layer done

Add a Car voltage regulator and I'm done with the soldering iron!

unfortunately I abandoned the project, too time/money consuming for listen to music a few miles a week

I find out how to enable aux-in from the ip-bus, so I'm using a home made adapter to attach my android via 3.5mm jack.

A smartphone mount and the right application (for now is Car Tunes) an I can control my "jukebox" easily via gestures. 17dc91bb1f
