Visit the Jag Mandir Palace
Located in the southern island of Lake Pichola, Jag Mandir Palace is a three storied palatial structure made in yellow sandstone and marble.
This edifice was built by Maharana Karan Singh to serve as a hiding place for Prince Khurram (Shah Jahan) in the 17th century.
The palace is a ferry ride away from the mainland. To reach it you will float on the waters of Lake Pichola, which is surreal to say the least.
Lunch Time it is! Find a traditional Restaurant
For lunch, do try the authentic food of the region. Choose a traditional restaurant that fits your pocket and order the lip-smacking delicacies of the state.
If you are a non-vegetarian do not forget to try some Laal Maas. However, if it is the vegetarian food you prefer, we would suggest you go for the authentic Thali.
Pay Homage to the Unique Karni Mata Temple
A few kilometers from the main city, there is a unique temple crawling with thousands of holy rats.
This beautiful temple is dedicated to Mata Karni and is famous for it legends and stories revolving around rats,
Long story short, the rats here were the devotees of the goddess in their previous lives, so they live here with her. They do not bite or leave the temple complex, even when they are free to do so. Surprisingly, every evening they consume the offerings blessed by the goddess (prasad) as well.
Locals believe that if you are run over by a white mouse here, good luck will come your way.
For dinner try some street food!
You cannot come to Udaipur and simply miss its flavourful street food. The street food of this city is beyond par when it comes to deliciousness.
Go to Mumbaiya Bazzar at Sukhadia Circle to try the awesome food they serve. Gorge onto some Pav Bhaji, or Chole Bhature or any oily item that you wouldn’t try otherwise. Don't worry, you won't run out of options. The entire area is laden with affordable shacks. Do try the Faluda ice cream for dessert, it is heavenly!
Day 2:
Take a cycle tour!
Do you love off the beaten track adventures? Would you like to explore Udaipur from a lesser touristy virtue? Then, you should positively take this bicycle tour.
Starting as early as 6 am, this 3 -hour long tour takes you to the untapped beauties of the region. On this journey you will get to see Fateh Sagar Lake, the artisan village of Shilpgram, and Badi Lake; all through the countryside of the city.
Note: Do book this cycle tour with local tour guides or companies on the first day itself. If you aren’t able to, don’t worry; you still have a lot to explore here.

Explore the streets for your breakfast today. Try some Poha or falafel or Indian style scrambled egg for the matter. If you are feeling adventurous, do give Kachoris a try. This will be your last day in the city, so make the most of it.
