Human expertise multiplied by AI
Each ScriptIQ report is expertly curated by human experts that are enabled by advanced AI processing and analytics.
Process objectively and consistently without bias.
Provide comparative analysis versus absolute analysis. At this stage of a project, there are not enough of the variables defined to create a reliable forecast, and thus the forecast provided is for comparative purposes only. As the old adage says, a great team can be successful with an average product, and a mediocre team can be average with a great product. End results ultimately are about the hundreds of decisions the final filmmaker team make together.
Respect the intuition, insights, and expertise of experienced humans over AI processing.
Continuously improve our product from learnings from each report we process as well as the input we receive from our ScriptIQ Ambassadors and our customers.
The following summarizes the key scoring protocols that are utilized in analyzing each script:
StoryIQ analyzes each script against comparable scripts in its genre and summarizes its analysis into the following summarized characteristics that are each a roll-up of several more detailed characteristics:
Plot
Character development
Thematic depth
Dialogue effectiveness
Emotional resonance
Genre comparison
The individual scores for the above characteristics as well as the overall StoryIQ score are viewable in the ScriptIQ report for each script.
GenreIQ calculates the average StoryIQ score for the genre that relates to each film. This can be a single genre (e.g., drama), or a blended genre (e.g., drama, action, western).
The Genre Ratio is the StoryIQ divided by the GenreIQ. A score greater than 1 means the script is above average, and a score less than 1 means the script is below average with respect to other films within its genre.
The AudienceIQ score is the blended score of the predictive audience appeal related to each of the key demographics of the film industry, known as the "Four Quadrants", to include: Male <25, Male >25, Female <25, and Female >25.
ContentIQ is the ratio of the Light/Good Impact content and Dark/Evil Impact content in the script. A score greater than 1 means the film has more light content than dark content, and a score below 1 means the script has more dark content than light content.
Effective storytelling thrives on the balance between light and dark content, serving as the narrative's lifeblood. Light elements, embodying hope, humor, and triumph, engage audiences by offering relief and inspiration, anchoring the narrative in positivity. Conversely, dark content, with its exploration of conflict, fear, and adversity, challenges characters and viewers alike, fostering emotional depth and complexity. This juxtaposition not only mirrors the multifaceted nature of human experience but also enhances engagement by creating a dynamic and compelling narrative arc. By weaving together light and dark themes, storytellers craft stories that resonate more profoundly, offering a richer, more nuanced exploration of the story's underlying messages and themes.
